Swimming Pool Maintenance Technican

The Maintenance Technician role entails delivering exceptional on-site pool cleaning and maintenance services. Responsibilities include adhering to established pool cleaning methods and safely handling pool chemicals. The position also involves diagnosing swimming pool equipment issues and offering solutions. This requires following our established diagnostic process, effectively communicating alternative solutions to customers, efficiently implementing the solutions, adhering to all protocols, and sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine pool cleaning and maintenance tasks, including skimming, vacuuming, brushing, and emptying skimmer and pump baskets.
  • Conduct a thorough visual inspection of all pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorinators, to identify any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
  • Test and adjust pool water chemistry to ensure optimal levels of pH, chlorine, and other chemicals.
  • Inspect pool equipment (pumps, filters, heaters) and perform minor repairs or report issues to the supervisor.
  • Clean pool tiles and surfaces to remove algae and debris.
  • Maintain and service pool covers, safety equipment, and other accessories.
  • Document all services performed and provide detailed reports to clients and management. Report them promptly to the service department for further evaluation and repair.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating moving parts and tightening loose connections, to ensure equipment longevity and reliability.
  • Use specialized testing kits to measure the levels of chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and other essential water parameters.
  • Analyze test results to identify any chemical imbalances or irregularities that could affect water safety and clarity.
  • Add the necessary chemicals to adjust and balance the water chemistry, ensuring it meets the recommended standards for safe swimming conditions.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Regularly check and empty skimmer. Inspect and empty pump baskets to maintain proper water flow and prevent damage to the pump and filtration system. r baskets to prevent clogging and ensure efficient water circulation.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Assume all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in pool maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of pool water chemistry and cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to operate pool maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • · Entry-level friendly position; previous experience in pool maintenance is not necessary.
  • · Demonstrated history of providing excellent customer service.
  • · Ability to work outside in all weather conditions year-round, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • · Willingness to work specific Saturdays on a rotation schedule to meet clients' needs.

Physical Demand

  • Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, and kneel to access pool areas, equipment, and perform cleaning tasks.
  • Occasionally required to climb ladders or steps to access pool equipment or elevated areas.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, install, or operate tools, equipment, and pool maintenance supplies.
  • Must be able to push and pull pool cleaning equipment, such as vacuum hoses and carts.
  • Often required to squat and crouch to perform detailed cleaning and inspection tasks.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to use tools and perform precise maintenance tasks.
  • High level of physical stamina is required to perform continuous, repetitive tasks over an extended period.
  • Ability to maintain balance on wet or slippery surfaces around the pool area.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or move up to between 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, subjecting the technician to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun exposure.

Main Roles:

Pool Maintenance

· Visually check pool equipment

· Test the water for irregularities

Requirements Pool Maintenance Technician:

· No prior pool maintenance experience required

o Training program offered for all new Technicians
